Our Marketing Solutions team is responsible for enabling trivago's marketing team to implement their strategies by developing automated tools to support their decisions. We are now seeking a passionate Senior QA Engineer to join our team! In this role, you'll ensure the quality of our software by implementing manual and automated testing.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Critically evaluate ideas: Assess the usability, performance, and impact of team members’ new ideas, suggesting improvements or corrections throughout the development process.
  • Ensure quality and reliability: Through rigorous testing and validation processes, deliver high quality software. As part of a cross-functional team, you will be responsible for both manual and automated testing activities.
  • Take ownership: Support our users by debugging issues, identifying root causes, and offering effective solutions.
  • Data-driven insights: Dig into data at trivago, uncover useful insights, and identify risks when new features are built
  • Innovate: Integrate AI into day-to-day testing activities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

What you'll need to thrive:

  • Expertise: proven hands-on experience with UI automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, RestAssured, Karate, or similar, with a strong ability to design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for both web and back-end applications.
  • Code Proficiency: in at least one OOP programming language. Strong ability to read, understand, and debug code written by other developers, ensuring efficient troubleshooting and maintenance of existing software.
  • Influence and Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with developers to write more testable and efficient code by effectively communicating the benefits, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Ownership and Pro-activity: Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects and tasks, exhibiting a proactive approach to problem-solving and ensuring successful delivery and accountability.
  • Tool Proficiency: Proficient with essential modern QA tools, including SQL, Git, Jira, Postman, Docker and Grafana.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable with a testing approach that is fast, flexible, and continuously changing.
  • Multitasking ability: Capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Learning and sharing: A hunger to learn and share knowledge
  • Goal oriented: Setting high goals and proactively working towards achieving them.
  • Team collaboration: Desire to work in a dynamic international team where communication and collaboration are the keys to success.
  • Language skills: Fluent in English, our company language.

Stand out with:

  • Educational background: A degree in an IT-related field of study.
  • Quality Commitment: A strong commitment to ensuring the quality and reliability of software through meticulous testing, rigorous code reviews, and the implementation of best practices in quality assurance.
  • CI/CD and DevOps: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices including Kubernetes and Cloud services.
  • Data engineering knowledge: Understanding of data engineering practices and tools.
  • Analytical skills: Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
