Product Manager – Content

When travelers are searching for a hotel, we want the obvious choice to be trivago! By comparing prices from major booking sites, we're making it easy for people to find hotels they want at a price they’ll love. In the lively city of Düsseldorf, we seize opportunities to learn everyday, innovate, and make an enduring mark on the travel industry. A career at trivago is a journey designed for people who crave continuous development and want to thrive in a high-performing team. Here you will find those who aren't afraid of change but rather embrace it, turning every challenge into a pathway for growth. Join trivago, work with a great team, and grow with us!

Join us in making a difference

Every month, over 120 million users rely on the trivago website for finding their perfect getaway. This requires the highest quality possible and our product and UX teams ensure that our product delivers on this expectation.

As a Content Team Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing the quality of our images, enhancing our back-end processes, and curating the image selection for our front-end display. Your day-to-day will consist of working with back-end engineers and data scientists. Your work will directly impact the visual presentation of hotels and the way we aggregate content from multiple third-party sources.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Back-End optimization: Collaborate with back-end engineers and data scientists to improve image quality, streamline back-end processes, and ensure efficient handling of large volumes of image data.
  • Image selection and curation: Develop and implement strategies for selecting the best images to display on the front-end, taking into account user engagement metrics and business objectives.
  • Product vision: Maintain a deep understanding of the product, and identify user and business problems on the front-end that can be addressed with back-end solutions.
  • Lead the visual content roadmap. Lead the development and execution of our visual content strategy, roadmap and test plans.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Utilize data analytics and insights to drive product decisions and optimizations, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Facilitate effective communication with internal stakeholders, offering timely updates on the product roadmap, development progress, and critical performance insights.

What you'll need to thrive:

  • 5+ years experience working as a product manager in a modern, agile online company
  • Proven track record of product management in delivering user-centric products that create business value
  • Proactive attitude: You’ll find, evaluate and solve problems. You are a value creator, rather than a facilitator
  • High level of ownership and drive to take projects from concept to delivery
  • You should be able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment with a focus on efficiency
  • Effective communication skills in English to ensure transparency and alignment on product goals, priorities, and progress

What makes you stand out:

  • Experience working directly with back-end engineering teams
  • Aggregation of content from various 3rd party sources

What you can look forward to:

As you grow, so do we.

This is why at trivago, we prioritize your development, offer personalized coaching through Likeminded, and provide workshops, educational meetups, conferences, free online learning courses, and access to a fully-equipped campus library.
