As a Tax Accounting Specialist, you'll provide tax consultation for trivago's stakeholders and implement best practices in our tax accounting processes. How you’ll make an impact:
- Prepare and file (preliminary) VAT returns and other indirect tax filings such as ZM return and OSS return
- Prepare and file German WHT returns
- Support with the preparation of the German CIT and TT returns
- Perform tax-related SOX controls
- Ensure tax compliance in ERP settings
- Provide support during tax audits
- Coordinate work streams with external consultants and handle administrative communication with tax authorities
What you'll need to thrive:
- Qualification as an accountant or tax clerk (Bilanzbuchhalter or Steuerfachangestellter)
- First professional experience in taxes and accounting, preferably in an international group or a consulting firm
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- The ability to multitask while completing tasks accurately in a timely manner
- Keen attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Positive ‘can do’ attitude and eagerness to own and take responsibility for projects and processes assigned
- Excellent and fluent written and verbal communication in German and English (our company language)
Stand out with:
- Experience working with reporting / ERP software
- Experience with performing SOX controls
