How you’ll make an impact:
- Develop our models by bringing new ideas and implementing them while keeping business priorities in mind
- Improve models' performance by designing tests and evaluating the results
- Translate business needs into hypotheses, leading to advanced analytical projects, and conduct ad hoc analyses to address specific business questions
- Ensure a good quality of data by developing and monitoring data anomaly detection tools
- Conduct data science projects from conception to deployment and maintenance across the fields of marketing and product
- Proactively communicate and share your conclusions, as well as explain complex topics tailored to the audience
- Investigate state-of-the-art models and techniques to find new applications within trivago’s business
What you'll need to thrive:
- A Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, physics, computer science, or another quantitative field
- At least 3 years' experience working in data science or machine learning
- A good understanding of data analysis and statistical concepts with experience applying them
- Proficiency in programming in either Python or R and SQL skill
- Good communication skills and confidence in presenting ideas and findings to stakeholders regardless of their technical background
- Proactivity and familiarity with ambiguity, keen attention to details while working independently in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
- Fluency in English, our company language
Stand out with:
- A master's or PhD in statistics, mathematics, physics, computer science, or another quantitative field
- Experience with cloud technologies e.g. GCP, BigQuery, etc.
- Experience with big data technologies and distributed systems like Hadoop, Spark, etc.
