At trivago, our mission is to empower our talents to thrive both personally and professionally. Mental health greatly influences the way we feel, think, and act. We want to make sure that our talents have the support they need and the tools to help them reach their full potential. We strive to achieve this through a carefully curated range of perks and benefits designed to support our talents’ mental health and overall well-being. In this article, we’ll take you through some of the ways we support mental well-being at trivago.
Mental Health Support and Personal Development with Nilo
We’ve partnered with Nilo – a digital platform that provides a holistic approach to development at work and mental well-being. With Nilo, our talents can have one-on-one sessions with certified professionals, join group workshops, or take advantage of the media library that includes guided audio exercises and meditations. They have access to professional psychologists, therapists, and coaches who can support them on their journey of growth. The service can be used for both professional and private needs.

Flexibility and Work-Life Balance
A healthy work-life balance is an important factor closely connected to mental and physical health, which is why flexibility is a key component of our working culture. Our hybrid work model allows our team to split their time between working from home and the office, with 3 days of in-person collaboration at our Düsseldorf campus and 2 days of mobile work. We also offer further flexibility for parents of young children and talents with severe disabilities or health conditions.
Since day one, we’ve believed that productivity and performance aren’t measured by set hours, so we let our talents choose their own working hours and vacation days. We trust them to manage their productivity, ensuring performance and team collaboration remain unaffected.

Fitness Support
Regular physical activity can reduce stress, anxiety and contribute to overall well-being. That’s why we’ve made sports and fitness activities easily accessible to our talents. They can enjoy a workout just a few steps away from their desks (at no cost). Whether it’s a yoga or Aikido session led by our talents, a visit to our campus gym, or a run on our rooftop running track, there’s something for everyone, including different off-site activities offered by our partner Urban Sports Club.

Health and Well-being Days
We recently hosted a dedicated Health and Well-being Day on our campus. The day was designed to help our talents prioritize their physical and mental health, offering a range of activities to support their well-being. This included interactive sessions and live meditation with our partner Nilo, where talents could learn strategies and engage in exercises to nurture their mental health. In collaboration with our insurance partner Techniker Krankenkasse, we provided different health measurement options. Throughout the day, talents also had the opportunity for individual fitness analysis sessions with fitness trainer Patrick Cole, who shared personalized training tips.

We’re shaping a workplace culture where every talent can thrive, providing the necessary tools and support for their personal and professional growth and well-being. This journey is continuous, and we adjust and improve based on the feedback from our talents.
